You know...I've never tried that before. I've always thought that if you remove the filter without draining the oil, that you'd have one big mess from oil pouring out. Is the filter high enough that oil wouldn't pour out even when full?
that's what i was wondering too actually....filters are cheap, a 5 quart jug of mobil 1 isn't
