The other 5 taxis also got new oil but went a year with no oil change, only weekly level checks and filled to proper level.

After the year was over all 10 of the engines were torn apart, reinspected and no difference was found in engine wear between the two groups.

Something to think about...
The most important thing of course is making sure your oil level is high. Most people think after putting in Amsoil is just run the car until you hit 20-30,000 miles. I'd check it at least once a week.

By the way I took some out tonight after having it the car for 2 weeks. Clear as when I put it in the car and still at the same level

This is a good thread. In a&p school, learned that oil does not really break down. It gets dirty. That is what kills oil. I run Valvoline Dura-blend in everycar i've owned. Never had an oil related break down. Change every 4000 miles. As anal as i am about my car, comes out a little less golden than it goes in. First time to hear of Amsoil. Does it come in standard weights??
