I use liquid nail to glue it together before I screw it. Then I I use way too many screws(one every 2 inches) and seal it off with silicone sealant. Silicone can damage the cone I''ve heard so you have to let it dry for 24 hours before installing the sub. Why would you avoid cubes?? My Boston spec sheet sugested a half of a cube as a box.
