i asked my cousin and argued with him regarding this matter. i told him that the reason it is done to RWD cars is that when they press on the gas the rear goes down because of traction. he said that FWD (his civic) when he launches his front goes up.. weird.. thats why i want some technical information. im driving a 97 civic soon to be a vti.

Actually there are 2 answers to this. If you do it some rigged way then no it will not help a bit. But on the other hand if you look at the pro import fwd drag cars they have wheelie bars on them but they do not keep the car from standing because it won`t cause its fwd, they have them set up with a c02 charge that when activated the bars press on the ground and raise the rear of the car up a little which in turn puts more pressure on the front and gives them better traction.

the process you are talking about is called "raking",..yes it benefits RWDs more,..but it can also benefit FWD cars also,...by lifting the back end and lowering the front end,..it somewhat puts more weight to the front wheels,...and if you have tractioin problems like wheel hopping,...more weight to the front can help reduce that
