Headlight wiring socket
Several years ago I purchased some hyperwhite headlight bulbs for my 95 ex coupe. A few weeks ago I noticed that one of the headlights was out, but if I opened my hood and moved the bulb around a little bit it would turn back on. The same thing then started to happen every once in awhile with the other headlight. Now the driver's side headlight is currently working ok, but the passenger side is not working at all. I bought some replacement bulbs, but when I went to install them I discovered that the wiring harness/socket assembly that plugs into the bulb was pretty melted and that the new bulbs wouldn't work either. Is this an easy problem to fix? Does anyone know the part number I would need to buy? Any advice on where to look besides junkyards? I was told by a friend that this a fairly common for cars that install aftermarket hyperwhite bulbs. Thanks in advance for any help.
I think its because your aftermarket headlights get real hot. I am not sure though. I have the Sylvania SilverStars and love them. But I havent checked out my sockets yet to see what they look like.

you can buy replacement h4/9004 sockets at kragen/pepboys/napa. you need to cut off the old one and solder/crimp on the new one. the same thing happened on my accord. my jdm lights came with adapter harnesses that melted to my aftermarket (90w) bulbs.
I don't remember what kind of bulbs they were, i got them so long ago. Does anyone know the wiring harness part number or "official" name? everywhere i've gone to ask about it they either have no idea what i'm talking about or say that they don't have it.
