Default 97 HX gearing similar to EX trannys?

I think i toasted my 95SI tranny in my 00 ex tonight at the track (actually my friend did) it's now stuck in 2nd gear so hopefully it's just a jammed shift linkage.

Anyways i have a 97HX tranny standing by, i don't remember but does anyone know if it's similar gear ratios/final drive to the EX or if it's longer geared?

BTW pulled a 8.52 @ 80.3 in the 1/8th mile with a 1.89 60 foot

I'm sure the HX is longer, how much I don't know.

Ok, after a few minutes of searching the only solid number I could find for the HX gearing was the final drive ratio.
5G EX/Si: 4.25
6G HX: 3.72

Just the final gear will give you a noticable difference in acceleration, in this case the car will take longer to pull through each gear with an HX final assuming the same (or close to the same) gearing.

For compairison, most B-series gear boxes come with a 4.40 final, and the late JDM ITR came with a 4.785 final

The HX CVT has a supposedly has a 5.81 final, but the CVT is a creature of it's own anyway.

i talke to bret on the board and he said the hx and dx are the same tranny. Sucky for drag racing I think 1st goes to 40, 2nd to 70 3rd to 110 4th to 130.

It's not THAT bad except the gap between 2nd and 3rd sucks hard.

hehe i'm gonna get a crower or zex cam next and up the boost to 10 consistent. Last night i was running 8 with spikes to 10 at the topend, my SAFC logged .7 bar on the spikes. Hopefully that'll get me 210-220 whp and high 7's in the 1/8th and i'm still on a bone stock y8

The 8.52 is equal to a 13.2 in the 1/4 mile with probably a 100 trap on slicks.
