Default Drag strip for the first time.. and my time!

hey everyone.. i dont post much, just wanted to share my joy, well... i just got back from the track (irwindale drag strip)and got a time slip for the first time. I got a 97 GSR engine with the usual i/h/e and with stock tires, my best time was...

R/T - 1.041
60' - 2.508
330 - 6.590
1/8 - 9.916
Mph - 72.86

(dont know if thats good or bad.. hehe)

this place is only 1/8 of a mile long.. i know it sucks.. but hey.. its the closest one around.. wat u guys think my car would run on a 1/4?? i'm gona do some more mods before i'll head off to california raceway for the 1/4.. a bit of a drive.. gota make it worth it. thanks

i still havnt been to the track, how much was it? is it just pay to get in? or do you pay per run?

It could have been alot better your 60ft was pretty bad with a better 60ft like 2.0-2.2 then you should be able to run low 9`s in the 1/8. Thats what most hybrid hatch`s run with your mods.

20 bucks to race.. 10 bucks to watch.. and u get to race as much as u want for time slips

When you go to the track you pay to get in and to run its a set price. I don`t know of any tracks that charge per run. But there may be some out there :dunno:

how do i get my 60' lower? wat am i doing wrong??

Don`t tell anyone but here is the best way to lower your 60 Leave at like 3500 rpms and do not dump the clutch drag the clutch. You should run about 15psi in your tires. From your 60ft times it looks like you has alot of wheel spin but you ran good mph so your hatch can definatly go low 9`s. Just make sure you don`t leave to high and practice dragging the clutch it will take some time but you`ll get the hang of it. Its very easy to get gittsy while on the line and it makes you want to dump the clutch just remember to relax and drag the clutch out till you get moving. Good luck :thumbup:
