Yea the first time at the track it is ususally bad. Went I went with my 98 LS1 6 speed camaro I ran 14.2@104, only had the car fora week. Went back 1 month later ran 13.5 @106. The best I got in stock form with a tire was 13.2@107

I have no idea how to convert 1/8 times to 1/4 times, so I'm clueless :dunno:

The best and most acurate way is to multiply your 1/8 time by 1.56 that will tell you close to what you will run in the 1/4.

hey everyone.. i dont post much, just wanted to share my joy, well... i just got back from the track (irwindale drag strip)and got a time slip for the first time. I got a 97 GSR engine with the usual i/h/e and with stock tires, my best time was...

R/T - 1.041
60' - 2.508
330 - 6.590
1/8 - 9.916
Mph - 72.86

(dont know if thats good or bad.. hehe)

this place is only 1/8 of a mile long.. i know it sucks.. but hey.. its the closest one around.. wat u guys think my car would run on a 1/4?? i'm gona do some more mods before i'll head off to california raceway for the 1/4.. a bit of a drive.. gota make it worth it. thanks

decent i guess...what's your motor setup? It's weird cause a 2.5 60 foot is complete shit but your trap is only probably good for maybe a 9.8 anyways, so something isn't right.

I ran a 8.52 @ 80 last night with a 1.89 60 foot in my turbo 00 civic ex with the stock y8 motor @ 8 psi.

my tires is pretty bad.. couldnt grip at all.. spin like crazy.. i let go of the clutch at yellow.. when it hit green it was still spinning all the way up to 6 or 7 rpm.... btw i usually launch around 4-6 rpm, is that bad?? maybe i should launch at 3?

If you spin you need to lower your tire pressure to around 22 and try again if you still spin lower them again and after a few runs the tires will heat up and pressure will go up so check every 3 runs or so.

On i/h/e i would launch at least around 4500-5000 and don't dump it, let the clutch out till you grip and give it gas when you hook up then stomp the gas.

right, that's been my problem - dumping the clutch.

You need to let it out slowly, but if you're using a stock clutch, you're going to burn it up pretty quickly doing that.
