Default Air Intake Sensor?

On a 2000 civic ex, what does the air intake sensor look like, and what resistor(size and capacity) would you plug into it so that the ecu thinks it's cold air? This intake sucks. Thanks for the help

Thanks, the intake is a piece of junk, (doesn't plug into sensor, check engine light always on) I always thought that was the sensor, but wanted confirmation. The AEM cold air is on it's way..

On a different note, what's an easy way to clean an air filter without a kit? I thought about washing it out thouroughly with water and letting it dry for a day..but didn't wanna risk it. Also, do the air filter cleaner kits actually work?
