The trailing arms off a disc brake or drum brake setup are the same so it really doesn't matter. If he's offering them at a better price than go for it.
Note that all rear disc brake setups from integras and civics from 1994 + will fit your car. You could even get disc brakes from a del Sol... but to install them you'd have to reuse your civic lower control arms since the del sol ones are too short.
Something else you'll need is the proper disc brake proportionning valve. I believe the proper honda disc brake proportionning valve has 40/40 written on it. Personnally, I just went with an adjustable proportionning valve when I did my conversion
Ummm.... I don't think its possible to install disc brakes on trailing arms that originally came with drums. :eh:

Do I really need the proportioning valve or should i get one that is on the hatchback if thats 40/40?
You don't need the prop valve for the brakes to work. It will just give you better front/rear brake distribution. The prop valve from any civic/integra with rear discs will work.

if just the rear discs...you can live without the prop valve..but the pedal feel will be a little mushy.

i got the GSR's in front and rear...and went with the 90-93 40/40 valve.

the prop valve doesn't really effect pedal feel... just brake bias. Its the MC that will firm up the pedal.

whoops.... work and fatique is owning me h:

...i meant MC. h: i upgraded to the 15/16 MC from the 91 Civic sedan EX. bolts right in without the booster. that eliminated the mushy feel. i wanted to upgrade to the GSR 1"...but didnt want to rebend/flare any lines h:

the prop valve...well...i have a 40/40 distribution now

 I had the 15/16" on breifly, but had booster problems with it. Now I'm back to the stock booster and 13/16" I've got a 1" and a 15/16" still, but haven't had time to mess with it.

I got my rear brakes and will be installing them sometime next week. $175.00 for a set of SI hatchback rear brakes, good price i think. The guy recomends i get Energy Suspension Rear Trailing Arm Bushing. What do you all think or suggest? And since my car doesnt have rear brakes now; how do i connect my brake lines to and where? Any one have a detailed DIY on this?

And i get myy car back to day afterwork with the new engine .
oh man cant wait to see her, its been to long not driving it.

I did the energy suspension trailing arm bushing when I did my brake swap. It was a pain in the ass to DIY, but the stock bushings were shot, so I kinda had too. I would reccomend getting the Prothane trailing arm bushing over the ES. It comes with the crossmember already installed, which makes the whole process a little easier. I think its worth it though, that bushing is one of the crappiest OEM bushings on a civic, IMO. For more information on replacing the bushing, do a search in my name, or bumnah's name... we've gone over it many times.

Theres a good DIY for the brake swap on hybrid garage

:EDIT: Which differential did you end up getting? Enjoy the new motor!

Yeah, dinky brakes suck. If it weren't for the brakes, I might have left my car stock and raced H-stock h: But as we all know, once you get started....
