eh, doesn't hurt to play with it a bit. Just to get used to the movements and positions of the pedals and shifter. I agree it wont really help him learn to drive, but it will make him more familiar with his surroundings.

yeah, there's nothing wrong with it, but it'll be totally different when the car's actually moving. and ever car has a different clutch grabbing point. and it won't flood the engine of a fuel injected car.
