Depends what type pf power your looking for and what kit your going with. Definately fuel management and a nice pump. Edlebrock kit sucks my ass compared to the right custom set-up (such as mine). I'll admit it's complete but I could put together a much better kit for less money.

ok what if i wanna kick up the boost to 10-12 psi regularly. . . am I talking about pistons, rods, fuel pump, fmu and injectors? am i missing anything?

If you're picking apart the engine, then you should replace main and rod bearings, thrust washers, any leaking seals (all seals on high mileage engine), water pump (mileage depending), oil pump (mileage depending), timing belt, maybe more.

Then you need a good hone of the block; bore if you got oversized pistons. You might need a good micropolish of the crank. It's a lot of things to do, not just pop in pistons + rods.
