hmmm, what are you talking about? are you putting a tranny back in? Make sure the pressure plate is lined up right. Make sure that the clutch is correct if the splines are different it won't go on right. lightly lube the splines on the input shaft. KEEP TRYING!

Maybe push the passengerside end of the tranny up higher than you think? That's helped me in the past on different cars. Also, wiggle it/rotate it a little to try to get the splines lined up. Good luck.

Did you leave the tool in until you got the pressure plate torqued down? Also, it helps if you can get somone to lay on their back under the tranny and hold it up while you shove it home. It's tricky sometimes but it will go in.

Even using the alignment tool properly doesn't mean the tranny is going to go back in smoothly. There is alot of cussing and bench pressing you'll have to do. Try it a few times, then rotate the tranny back and forth and you will eventually find the right combination.

Hey thanks for the help I couldn't reply cause I was getting the trans back on. I think I was getting frustrated so I took a break for an hour and ate. I went back out threw some grease on the input shaft, and it just slid right on. It wasnt that bad took me 9 hours installing a clutch on a FWD car. It was also my first time. I can throw one on in 3 hours on a stang or camaro.

a break almost always helps...

i had to take alot of breaks when i swapped my transmission...

auto's are heavier, and i had no engine hoist to make lifting it up easier...I was stuck using 3 ratchet straps and a cheesy floor jack in a small apartment complex style garage.

Yea I was under the car bench pressing it up. I work out though every day and bench 200. So this wasnt that bad it just gets hard to hold it up long. I had a friend to help guild it on for me above the car. I think his name on HAN is Josher

Yep-o, a break and a few beers helps Hulk turn back into mild-mannered Bruce Banner. Work smart, not hard
