The D16A1 (86-89 USDM Integra) was also a ZC pattern DOHC D-series.

The D15Z1 VTEC-E head is very different from the D16Z6 VTEC head. The Z1 head uses 12 valves at low RPM, and all 16 at high RPM. At low RPM, the four extra valves open only enough to prevent fuel pooling on the valve. VTEC-Economy was ment to save gas, not win races
