Im ordering a turbo kit from slow boy racing. This week. I want to know what to buy before the installation. Like Ignition or fuel I have a fule pump. I was going to get an external coil and sci box. would that be more benifial. Thanks

 

Quality EGT gauge and have the bung welded to the exhuast manifold (don't just drill and tap it). Good quality water temp gauge wouldn't hurt either. I think boost gauge goes without saying. Depending on your boost, you probably won't need an ignition upgrade till you pushing past 10-12 psi. You'll probably see some gains, but I'd suggest investing in keeping the motor in one piece first.

what's slowboyracing? is it a greddy kit, apex kit, t3/t4 kit? I would definetely get your fuel management ready, bov, boost gauge and an EGT that's about it. You definetely need fuel management before upgrading stock ignition

 

What kind of boost levels are you planning on?

Also do you have anything in mind for fuel upgrades? Such as 1g dsm injectors and resistor box with a SAFC or something?

Its like 1250 for the kit. The only thing Im not sure of is the turbo a T20. They say that everything can be upgraded

 

i would do a set of dsm injectors and a SAFC, or VAFC. So you can properly tune if you're gonna go as high as 8psi. Get an AF Ratio gauge so you can tune it...or even spend the $ on a dyno tune.

 

i would get some injectors from a turbo dsm (eclipse, talon, laser) just as long as they are 440/450cc. What year is your car? If it's saturated then you will need to get a resistor box or inline resistors (i prefer inline, they are like 4 bux at radio shack and the wiring job is MUCH neater)

You also need an AFC either V or S and some time on the dyno. This is commonly called the AFC hack, it basically cuts back duty cycle on some big injectors to cut voltage to the map so you won't read boost and throw a code while supplying plenty of fuel.

Feel free to PM me if you need any help setting this up, you need to dremel out the stock injector rings to have them fit correctly and a few other small details, i'd be glad to help.
