Get a 240sx or SE-R and for 5000 (including the price of the car) you could easily be in the 12's, just a suggestion though.
sounds good. how can I do this?

Oh, now you opened a whole new can of worms. An RX-7 can easily do that too.

$500-750 for a blown engine 86-88 N/A chassis, same price if you get lucky with a blown engine Turbo II chassis.
$1300 for a full Turbo II engine conversion. (or replacement for a TII)
$100 FCD
$600 full Cork Sport turbo-back.
$320 S-AFC

For around $3000, you're already in the mid 200's for horsepower, and similar torque. Drop in another $2000, and you're going hella fast.

That's what I'm doing right now.:naughty:

just look in your local paper, autotrader or ebay. I just picked up a 92 SE-R for 1800 bucks in decent shape. I blew the motor (it had 185K miles on it) but i have a JDM SR20DE in the mail for 450 shipped. So that's about 2300 bucks for the car/motor. I then spent 800 bucks for a cai, header, motor mount inserts, strut bar, tune up parts, sub/box and NX direct port nitrous kit. I still need the progressive controller to run a 150-200 shot safely (the SR motors take 400 whp on stock internals) and a set of slicks which is about another grand for both which will net me a low 12 and around 350 whp for less than 5000 bucks.

Another alternative would be finding a 240sx and getting a S13 SR20DET swap for about 2000 bucks. Turn it up to a bar on the stock internals, get a 3" catback exhaust and you're in the very low 13's in a RWD turbo car (much more fun than a swapped honda imo) My friend dynoed 270 whp in his 240SX with a DET swap on about 12 psi.

You can read up on sr20deforum.com, se-r.net or freshalloy.com

i know this isn't honda/acura anymore but I realized that i could also get a toyota MR2 and do a complete 3SGTE (220hp) swap for a little over $3000 plus a few extras after that

has anyone heard anything good/bad about www.streetimports.com?

I would say go for the b18b block/b16a head and do an ls/vtec build. built it up really strong internally and make yourself a nice little N/A motor.

that sounds good. hopefully I'll stop changing my mind after this

it looks like a complete b18b will be about $2200 and a b16a head is about $300-400. so I'm looking at about $2600 for the engine minus the installation right? I have a friend I work with who owns a shop who probably do all this for about $500.

total = about $3100. what do you think?
