It is probably a sensor or relay, I don't know much about airbags (I hate them) but if any of the sensors go bad it will trip that light.

FYI, SRS stands for "Supplemental Restraint System," which can be airbags, or in some older cars, automatic seatbelts.

Well, in a del Sol, SRS is the airbag system. End of story.

And if I were you, I wouldn't fµck with it, as the airbags are very touchy to inexperienced tampering...and if one accidentally deploys, it's an expensive accident.

lmao, you guys are knocking me out today!

There is a way to check the srs codes. Just go a search on google, and if you can't find it, let me know. I've got it saved somewhere. Also, airbags are not as touchy as everyone seems to think they are. I've had mine out tons of times (easier to get the dash out with the steering wheel off). As long as you use the safety jumper, and either pop the fuse, of disconnect the battery, you're good to go.

I forgot to mention, the single airbag systems are way easier to deal with. Normally you don't have to reset them after reinstallation. As for the passenger side bags, they tend to be a bit more touchy as far as popping on the srs light. Just reset it, and it's cool.

like I said, you need to check the srs code to find out where your problem lies, then you'll know what to fix. When that's done, reset the system, and you're good to go.

How To Reset The SRS Indicator Light

If you've pulled the SRS fuse and caused your dash SRS Light to come on and stay on, this page tells you how to reset the SRS so that the bulb no longer stays on. You could have a dealership reset the SRS, but it I've heard it costs $80. This reset feature will also work if you have repaired or replaced whatever was malfunctioning in the SRS system.

Note: SRS is your Airbag system and is sensitive. I do not suggest that you attempt this if you lack basic electronic skills.

Tested: I've tried this on my 1996 Acura Integra LS and it worked for me. I had accidentally pulled the SRS Fuse and did NOT feel like having the dealership reset the SRS.

Supplies Needed: 2 wires OR I would suggest 2 Alligator Clips (Radio Shack).

Steps:

1) You need to find the MES Connector. On my car it was plugged into the side of the fuse box. It was yellow in color and was a 2 prong connector. The insulating material around the wires of the connector was also yellow. For me, it was easy to find. BUT, I have heard of some people saying that they had a green connector located near the hood release latch. The connector is plugged into a "dummy harness." Basically, the prongs are not actually plugged into anything, the "dummy harness" just holds the Connector and prevents it from bouncing around.

2) Clip one alligator clip to one of the prongs and the other alligator clip to the other prong. If you're using 2 strands of wire, you won't be clipping, but twisting or shoving the wire onto the respective prongs.

3) Hold the two ends of your wire together, so that they are now connected.

4) Keeping the wires connected, turn the ignition on.

5) The SRS light comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off. Quickly remove the connection.

6) The SRS light will come on again. Quickly reconnect your wires.

7) The SRS light goes off. Disconnect your wire connection.

8) If you did this correctly, the SRS will blink twice.

9) Turn the ignition off and wait 10 seconds.

10) Turn the ignition on and you hopefully should no longer have the SRS light on.

11) Remove your wires, don't cross them at all or let them touch. Replug the yellow/green connector back into the "dummy harness".

Problems?

- You only have a 4 second window to connect/disconnect the wires. Example: when the SRS light comes on in Step 6, you have 4 seconds to reconnect the wires.
- Make sure you have the right connector and that a module or some other part of the SRS system is not malfunctioning.
- It took me 2 tries to get it right. The main thing to remember is that the wires need to be connected when the lights on, disconnected when the light is off.

That was info that I found a couple years ago, and it's worked on a few friends cars. I've never had to deal with mine being reset... Good luck man.
