my guess would be yes.. my guess is the THREE wires are


ground

blink

and always on

so thats why i asked if they were oem.. i NEVER saw oem ones.. so im not saying you are wrong.. but id GUESS that oem ones would just be ground and blink.. since they don't run on all the time.. DO THEY??

 

I don't think they are supposed to but I don't know much about Civics. Almost all that I know about Civics has been learned from you guys.

 

I would also say that you have an always on, a blinker, and a ground lead.

on each corner bulb there is the same three wires, you should be able to just tap into those.

just make sure you wire each side to each corner bulb...you cant wire both of them to one side. (i.e. if you wire them both to the left blinker bulb then both are going to blink on left turn signal.)

I'd like to have sidemarkers, but I'd never trust myself to put holes in my fenders.

make sure you DON'T connect the "always on" one.. that one is silly

 

I don't know what caused it exactly but I disconnected the red wires and kept the green and black ones on and they work like normal now. I think I may have blown a fuse though cause the daylights don't come on now. I'll get back after I figure that one out.

 

make sure you got them hooked up right by your parking/blinker harness, which has the same wire colors like you said. you'll have to take off the bumper and quarter pannel for this (10 min job max)

if you don't do this, feedback is going to occur.. depending on where you tap into your factory wires, its possible to create a bridge causing the other blinker to flash also.

if you don't want to do this, you'll have to use diodes to isolate the power to prevent power from feeding over to the other lightbulb.

btw, this is assuming the sidemarker has a double filament blub.

Alright, everything is cool now. I blew a fuse and that's why the daylights weren't coming on. For those of you who plan on doing this in the future, if you hook up the sidemarkers at the wires going into your turn signals, only hook up the ground (black) and green is the blinking circuit. Don't hook up the red wire as that is the wire for "always on" and the same circuit runs to both sides. So if you hook them both up and turn on the turn signal for one side it will feed through the green wire like it should for one side, then it will send electricity through the red wire to the other side causing both sides to flash. I think it looks good though and I'll post pics tomorrow or this weekend. Thanks all!

 

if you want the always on, use the diodes as someone said above to isolate the power in each wire
