It really is a good investment, and I definitely plan on that once I go boosted.

The oil lose it thikness I cant remember the technical term but the oil does not last that long.. I bet if you called AMS or redline they would recomend changing the oil at least every 3k. Fresh oil is always the best

It's all personal opinion too. Yes changing your oil more often than not is better. But there's also the extreme of changing your oil TOO much and just wasting money. I just started a new job today and the guy changes his oil every 1000 miles on his Ford Taurus.
But no oil doesn't loose vicosity it just gets dirty.

If the vehicle is equipped with an AMSOIL Oil Filter, the filter should be changed at 12,500-mile or six-month intervals (whichever comes first) in gasoline engines and 7,000-mile or six-month intervals (whichever comes first) in diesel engines. Non-AMSOIL oil filters should be changed at the engine manufacturer's recommended filter change intervals
YES oil dose lose its viscosity. When you change your oil check how thin the old oil is compared to the new. there is a guy a the LS1 website that is an oil expert and he has wright ups on oil viscosity and usage. I see if I can find him and get a right up on it

correct me if I'm wrong but with amsoil aren't you supposed to change the filter half way through?

The AMSOIL series 2000 20W-50 and 0W-30 oils are rated for 35,000 miles or one year. The original AMSOIL synthetic motor oils are rated for 25,000 miles or one year.
The series 2000 oils are about $3 more a quart but provide better wear protection.
Yes they do recommend that you change your oil filters every 6 months
AMSOIL does make a 5W-20 synthetic oil. It is part of their XL-7500 series which is formulated for 6 months or 7500 miles
AMSOIL is available at Howard Tire (Harrisburg, PA) and NAPA (Mechanicsburg, PA)
