Default obd1 wiring help..

I got a quick question for you guys in my endless quest to wire my 92 civic. I got a 92 civic cx, with a b18c1 in it. I bought the obd1 ecu (should be here tomarrow), so I'm reading up on how to install it. I think I got the basic steps down, but I got a question about the wires coming from the harness. I've read that I need to wire 7 wires so vtec will work. I see that each wire is color coded (ex. - yellow/green = vtec sol.), and I know the pins that the wire must be connected to on the ecu (ex. - vtec sol. = A4). Do I have to switch the wire from its original location on the harness and move it to the correct location? For example, I found the yellow/green wire for the vtec sol. but its not in the right location (A4), so should I remove the wire from the location its in, and plug it into A4? Also, when changing the location of the wires is there a special way to remove and plug in the wire? Thanks for the help.

92 should already be wired for vtec, are you sure you're counting the pins in the correct manner?

From the chassis harness, count from the wire side, far top left is pin 1, and below that is pin 2, it continues in a zig-zag.
