Fook, shouldn't you be out doing 5k neutral drops?

99_civiclove, see if any of the 6th gen guys did rear disc swaps, and have spare trailing arms kicking around.

That'd involve no pressing of wheel bearings.

They'd have to be local to you, as they'r huge, and shipping alone would be fifty bucks.

-PHiZ

good luck.

HEY NOW!

I was actually just out running in the mountains. Decided to follow Shawn's Focus for a while and go over Mt Hood. We tailed an s2000 with a radar detector for a while...eventually he decided to learn that he cant outpull the focus on the top end. I know I know, everyone is holding a BS flag to the whole "focus smoked an s2k", but I left out three key letters to tip you off...SVT. Also it was at 100mph uphill. Nice little 6 speed 170-180hp has a badass top end. Then on the way back I hit some seriously tight 180 hairpins and got some nice 4 tire screaming going on. Then on the freeway back I tried to instigate some freeway play with a white EX 6g coupe, he wouldnt play with me, either that or his car was just slow ass, which i didnt think anyone was slower than me, maybe ive just got a little more at top end than he did....i dunno. anyways, then a z3 bimmer tried to rev on me. I laughed.

moral of the story:

i never do N-drops
i talk too much
PHiZ smells

excuse me fook, but your calling me ignorant? You don't even know me boy. I'm not like all you wanna be racers on this board either. I work on honda/acuras for a LIVING! Not just for fun. When you become a Master ASE tech and a Gold level Honda technician then maybe you can back your shit talking up with some wisdom. people that ask stupid questions deserve what they get. And by the way, NONE of my hondas have been "totaled". Your the ignorant prick

What's wrong with NAPA? :dunno:

How do wheel bearings go bad anyway? Mine are still the original ones and they're fine. How can yours go bad already? :eh:

They shouldn't be going bad in a 99 civ, but I've done wheel bearings under warr. a couple times at the dealership. They will usually last a good 5-10 yrs. In my experience. on hondas at least. Napa is okay for parts on an old chevy, but i'd never put non-honda parts on my hondas. That's just me. If you like going there or whatever cool, but don't say I didn't warn you.

maybe the insult had nothing to do with your knowledge and experience, but with the fact that you were being a total ass on the thread.

I agree that OEM parts are better for the most part, but they just charge too much. Most people can't afford dealership prices and I'm not sure what the dealership offers for a warranty on their parts. For instance, I just bought some axles from NAPA for $120/pair (+ core) and they come with a lifetime warranty. Granted, I did have to take one back cause it was bad, but they gave me another one without a question.

I'm not trying to rag on you man, but if I had the experience and knowledge that you did, I would be helping everyone out and giving expert advice/instruction rather than trying to make people feel badly for not "knowing" what you do. jmo though...

99love, if you can't find them cheaper than what they offer at my NAPA, I'll be happy to get them for you and ship them (you pay of course. )

well i'm giving the dealership a call on monday. i even called autozone today but they couldn't even order them. they said they usually sell them for $8-$12. so hopefully the dealership won't kill me.

and WCS, i'm not sure what caused this to happen. no one has touched my rear brakes ever up until now, and i can't think of what underlying problem could cause it.

and hondatech, stop posting here.
