there is something in the way the rubber piece its like a mount sorry dont know how to describe it but its keeping me from putting the belt on and i didnt take my old belt off it ripped off. ne help? thanx
You have to remove that motor mount bracket to get the belt on. Sorry, but there's no other way to do it. That's what Honda deemed was the best way to do that. Aren't they thoughtful? The AC belt has to go around the mount, then you bolt the mount back on.
My 98 EX is like that, dumb setup, but it's a cramped engine bay so there isnt much they could do other than skimp on a motor mount (and that one is quite important).
Originally posted by wilsel My 95EX is not like that. I did mine from underneath the car though.

Ya it is man.. my DX is like that. All of them are like that cause the AC mount that bolts to the motor also serves as the motor mount. There's a shart that attaches to the mount itself which bolts to the frame (as it were). If you don't have this, you are missing a motor mount. h:
??? My compressor is towards the front of the engine bay. Just underneath the PS. I just replaced the alt belt and AC belt a year ago, and I didn't have to take loose any motor mount. Weird....
Yes, that's where they all are on the D/B series motors (not 100% sure on F/H series). You had to have loosended that mount to get the belt on... there's really no way around it. :dunno:
