I'll put it simply: D-series pistons and rods are GAY! They suck!

yeah you'll have to use all the stuff, but it's all plug and play.

trust me putting all that crap in is not hard. turbo is not hard, but it's just if not even more annoying.

as for the cam... i dont' even think they make a cam for the d series designed for a turbo application...

most aftermarkete cams for the d series as for N/A setups, and you don't want a N/A setup cam on a turbo application.

i'm not sure who makes cams for the d series, or where to get them.

on turbo applications i think most people stick with the stock cam.

I'm almost positive Crower has a turbo d-series cam, but some people don't like Crower so...

Found it: http://www.crower.com/cat/import/honda/camshafts.shtml

sorry, i was unclear on that. i was thinking of a project me and my friends did on a s12. anyhow, you need to a run an oil line to the turbo, which can be a b**** sometimes. Not sure how you would do that on a d15, a drill-n-tap job? let me know.

I usually tap into the oil pressure sensor on the back of the block.

What are the exact differences between say D16Z6 rods and D15 rods? I thought they were the same rods for the 1.5L VTEC's and the 1.6L VTEC's. I just put a JDM D15B in my cousins DX and I was curious if the GREDDY SOHC VTEC kit would work on that motor. It says in the Haynes manual that the block internals are the same. Hmmm... curious. and the tap for my oil line was easy. I just took it to a machine shop and they did it in a day and I picked it up after work.

the displacement between the two motors are in the block. They have the same bore size so that means the stroke had to be played with, which means the rod length. They probably figured they'd cut costs beings no will be hot rodding their D15 around

If I were you I would either move up to a d16 or a b18a or b1. All can be had for relatively little money and would cost less than building up your d15 to the point where it can actually handle power.

8 valve = crap, slowest thing I've ever driven

So would the GREDDY 1.6L VTEC turbo kit work on a 1.5L. Also, my cousin looked into a JRSC and they told em' it would not work on the 1.5L, why not?
