clear tail legality???
well, I WAS under the impression that clear tails were entirely illegal, but I saw the new Lexus SUV today, and it's stock tails are definately totally clear, with no visible red except the bulb inside. how is it those can be legal, but clear tails 4 our cars aren't?

I've heard many differeny stories. It depends on where you live mostly. There is no nationaly driving law that states that clear lights are illegal. You gotta do the research into where you live. I know that around here where I live in baltimore, different cops are under different impressions after I talk to them, along with lawyers. I used to work for a lawyer and I photocopied the Book of Torts on the legality of tail lights on motor vehicles, unfortunately I lost it, but I remember it saying that the rear lights on a motor vehicle must emit a red light for braking and an amber to red light for signaling. I can't remember if it said anything about red reflectors or not. Hope this helps. Do some legal research in your town. Hit the library :-)

there is a law in most cities EVERYWHERE.. here it is called "alternate equipment to defeat inspection", OR they can get with the classic "unaproved equipment" the second is the best.. when you read it.. it basicly says your car has to be COMPLETELY stock all the time no matter what..

the old lexus SUVs had them too, along with a couple of other cars. even the ford f-150 has them (well, the lightning or something like that). there are some laws for modded one, but nobody really cares unfortunately. too bad, maybe less people would put them on their car.
