Default saw the dealer- what a pain!!

Geez louise.

Took my car into the dealership to check on that strut. (I had told y'all about my 30,000 mile check up and they wanted $360!)

Anyway, I called the dealer a good week and a half before my appt. and told them I blew the right front strut.

I take Friday off, drive the 2 hours it takes to get there in the midst of horrible tourist driving, and they call me an hour after I brought it. (we were at the mall next door)

He say, "Well we took it for a test drive and it seems you blew the right front strut. We'll have to ORDER THE PART and you'll have to come in next week!!!" :madfawk: :madfawk: :madfawk:

Ok, I'm incredibly pissed now. It's the busiest time of the year at work. I work with the 4-H Program and our fair is in less than two weeks. (swamped beyond belief)

There is NO way I can take another day off in a week because my sis is here from Chicago and i arranged to see her one day.

They didn't take off my maintenance light (like i asked) and now I will have to take another day off, spend money on gas, lunch, etc. and I'm incensed.

What do you say? Am I mad for no reason??? mary

I agree with you both! It's under warranty, so I feel they should fix it, but I'm tempted to just buy a strut and have my hubby put it on!!
This happened once before when my cable to the trunk/gas door broke. I explained it to them and they never pre-ordered the part.
But with the strut, geez, that is a common part isn't it?

yeah it is a common part, but i don't think the dealerships stocks a ton of parts.

I know the dealership by me doesnt stock anything. I swear everytime I needed a part for my swap I had to wait another week for it to get in. I finally blew up at the dude and asked him if they stocked any frickin parts and I quote "well to tell you the truth...no"...:madfawk:

as much as the service sucks at the dealership, you really should have them replace it if it's still under warranty. I would also call the service manager and Corporate Honda to let them know about that dealership. I've had to do that 3 times now about my local VW dealership (wife has a new beetle).

It's good for resale to always have the dealership do warranty maintenance - as much as they can suck.

I would just be very blunt with them every time you call them considering the trek you have to make to get there. Don't let them screw with you. They're there because of customers.. you're a customer and don't let them forget that.

Stay tough!

Thanks everyone. It just cranks the crap out of me that they never have the part, but I've also told them in advance so they could have ordered the part!

Oh well, doubt I'd buy from them again. I don't understand why dealers don't understand that it's the service that makes or break the next sale!

But thanks, I'll try to calm down now, really i will..........really!
