Default swap problems

ok, i got my new b18c in my car and it runs, vtec is working now. but hte car still isnt up to par. ive ran it against another car with the same swap and it is a good bit faster. anyway, i have a check engine light on and i am going to run a computer test on it tomorrow to hopefully find out whats wrong. does anyone knwo where the computer pulg in is on a JDM B18C?

also, i know i didnt give much detail on the prob, because i dont know much, it jsut doesnt seem to be running as it should. seems to be holding back. does anyone have any suggestions on what the prob may be? i also used fuel injector cleaner with a full tank of 93, so its not my injectors, or shouldnt be. thanx for anyhelp.

did you swap out the fuel line that runs from the fuel filter to the fuel rail? You need to be running the B18 line. You can get it from Sohfast for about $40 shipped.

also, you may need to upgrade your fuel pump as the D15 doesn't push as much as the B18.

finally, I'm not quite understanding what you mean by the computer plug... do you mean how do you check your CEL?

That would be to the right of your glove box, near your ecu.
There's a how-to out on www.jdmfan.com and www.c-speedracing.com

hih.

just get a paper clip and short out the upper two slots on the 4plug blue harness under you glove compartment than turn the car on (but dont start it) and count the blinks, long=10 short=1 its not that hard.

hope you get it up and running soon, i gotta get my car back together...

ok guys, engine seems to be running up to par now. it stayed exactly even with my brothers car which is the same swap, so i should be good. but i still have a check engine light. i am going to try that paper clip thing, but just to make sure i dont mess something up. do i jsut fold the paper clip in half and stick each end into one of those slots on the top. and then turn the car on and count the blinks?

also, should i still go ahead and buy the new fuel line, or just stay with what i got. even if it seems to be working now, it will only make it faster, right? thanx for any help

the fuel line will help it run more efficiently. I went from getting ~200 miles to my tank to ~280 and I did notice some more responsiveness.

You should look at the links I posted above about doing the CEL check. It's very self-explanatory.
