Default cv boots....

while I was getting my brakes replaced, I noticed the cv boot on my passenger side was busted, and the one on my drivers side was starting to leak.

I know this is something I can ride on for a bit (until I hear a clicking during turns, which I have yet to hear). About how long would any of you say?

or am I asking a dumb question.... h:

advice, yO! :fawk:

it kinda depends if you drive on a lot of dirt, and wet roads then not long. That is what makes the clicking sound dirt inbetween the gears... no real way to tell maybe 3 months maybe 9 tops... kinda iffy

yup, 3 to 4 months. I was driving on my busted boot for about 3 months until I almost busted my axle.

yeah, thats why I figured I was asking a stupid question h:

I deliver pizza's for my job, so I put on about 70+ miles a day.

I figure once I start hearing a clicking, that'll tell me my axles about to break, and at that point, start thinking twords fixing it.

I wish I could have a few thousand saved by then, tho. Get a swap at the same time

any places you guys would suggest picking one up for cheap?

yeah, brake check was saying like $250 a boot.

I laughed. That seemed too expensive.

I think I'll make a DIY out of this, and get my brother-in-law to help me on it.
