Hey i have a 96 dx hatch and i was wondering if anyone has converted to a 99 center dash the part that has the radio and ac controls...does anyone know what is involved?

 

I can't remeber exactly the wiring but I'm 80% sure it's simple plug and play.

I may be wrong though cause the 96-98 switches are mechanical and 99-00 is auto.

it will not fit, it will not plug in. im not going to get into again, but you have to change EVERY wire and plug if you dont get the entire 99-00 dash and heater box, and blower motor box.
It can be done though, but it aint no cluster swap.

nah it fits i've seen it done, its just not a bolt on project

think of it as more of a conversion, lots of swapping parts

 

You can do it, snail on this site did it to his 96 coupe, which I have seen and driven. However what he did was relocate the A/C controls to the center console, and where the controls are on the 99 I think he made a fiberglass panel or something and stuck a couple of tweeters in there (not the best imaging obviously, but it fills the space). PM him for info, or I will direct him to this post.

Listen to this MAN he is right-- ive done tha research... It wont fit w/o ALOT of tooling w/ tha wires n §hit!
