I have a magazine somewhere around here with a documented dynoed power loss under stock by installing a pacesetter exhaust. I can try and dig it up for specifics.

You should have bought my wheels instead, they would have made your car faster :fawk: h: actually, they might have.

But to answer your q, the heat shields aren't really necessary, they just keep the bottom of the car from heating up. I ripped mine out because they rattled (that and my muffler fell off :exnbp: ), and I haven't noticed any difference at all.

documented power loss? haha doubt it. the only thing that would do that would be the muffler, and like i said, with the money i saved if i dont like the muffler i can get a different one. As for the piping, there is nothing about it that would cause a power loss, just 2.5" piping. no weird bends or anything.

Hey, i offered you $400 and you didnt take it!!! and now youre selling for $400!! cmon now

i think its got a louvered core or something. But yeah, as long as the bends are mandrel, the muffler can be replaced. I have the mag somewhere, maybe my roommate took it.

But hey, I decided to go down on the price because they didn't seem to be moving. That guy hasn't gotten back to me yet, so If you still want them you're welcome to them. I thought you said the best you could manage was $350?

Anyway, feel free to PM, i don't need to hijack your thread. No hard feelings, right? :happysad:

probably a little late... but those cat heat shields don't matter one damn bit. Mine have been off for a long ass time.
