Default Turbo now... OR Swap in a while then turbo

I was wondering if i should turbo my d16y8 engine now it only has 44,000 miles on it or wait save my money for a swap prolly a b16 and then turbo it . The kit i would turbo with is a rev hard kit. They seem to be very good and make alot of power, and can be upgraded. So any ideas or help would be great thank you

Well I once was in this same dilemma. After speaking with Tirod and also a friend of his I have decided to turbo my D16Y8. Now obviously if you were to swap then you would be that much faster but once you turbo the motor you got you can run with the best of them. Plus if you on a budget like I am then turbo is the only way.

:werd: a nice turbo setup will own a swap... i plan on doing both though :naughty:

i would def go with the turbo first if my engine didnt have 120k miles and sounded a lil better... with 44k miles, i wouldnt think twice about wasting that engine.. turbo away :boink:

i have a built motor and turbo goign in today hopefully weather permitting. but froma cash standpoint. buy another d16 block. jsut a bare block, build it up (do some research on this, i would reccommend golden eagle sleeves and your preference of forged internals. and then get some ferrerra valves for your head and some upgrading on that. swap your blocks out and redo your head and put it on there. then boost the heck outta it. tuning helps a lot.

fawk the head, you dont need to worry about valves and retainers, stock is fine...a cam would be good, but thats about it for the head.

worry about the bottom end...your not a high reving motor.
