i'd do a flywheel & clutch combo while the tranny is off, and the timing belt & water pump. I'd also baby it for a good tank of 2 of gas... Don't know how long that motor has been sitting around. Did they have the 4.7 final drive in the 97 ITR's? I'm thinking it's 98+ years they got that.

Either way. Great swap to go with. If you got some extra $ and some more patience I'd do some nice engine mods while it's out, hell if I ever do another swap again I'm putting all new bearings and seals and rings in. I don't trust any swaps these days.

Yeah i already planned on replacing the water pump and timing belt. I am going to leave the tranny alone for now. But i may throw on a dc jdm 4-1 header while the engine is out.

The 98 specs had the 4.7 final drive and 4-1 header. HMO wanted another $600 for a 98 spec so i said **** it.

my friend has a 2001 spec r tranny and man that 4.7 is so fun to drive. so much quicker. and the 4.9....

I agree with Bumnah. My first B16A in my coupe did'nt last long and I'll tell you that the B16A in my CRX has a helluva lot more miles than 30k. Nice choice though. If your young don't get crazy with the credit cards man. My cousin has dumoped almost 20k in his RSX over the last 1 1/2 years and though he makes decent money, his credit is getting maxxed out. he tried to get an EVO and was Denied. That was a real eye opener for him because he thought he had excellent credit. I told him not to get overextened. For you young guys, I know it's tempting but don't learn the hard way. I spent the last six years rebuilding my credit because I was a jackass in college. Sorry, don't mean to lecture.

Oh, and what's up with the red spark plug wires? Was this car modded before?

 

Yeah i am pretty safe with my credit card. I only got it to buy parts for my car, and build some credit.

As for the plug wires, the engine's used so of course the previous owner maintained it.

Did you need a si rear upper mount? If so where did you get it?
