Default Stock struts/shocks with aftermarket Springs

Hi,

I am new at all this exciting mod world, just wondering what
kind of problems I could face if I use Stock struts/shocks with aftermarket Springs (neuspeed, EBaick, etc.).

I have Civic 2002 Sedan LX.

Please feel free to expresess any opnions on this matter.

Thanks.
JTA.

You should be fine for quite sometime. But it will be a somewhat bouncey ride. I did it for 3 years on H&R Sports on a 99 civic ex. Never blew the struts..... just my experience.

Wow. That's pretty good, I never heard of anyone riding aftermarket lowering springs with OEM struts. Usually, the harder springs would shorten the lifetime of OEM struts in NO TIME. But if you are paying someone to change the suspension, I suggest you do it all at once. If you do it yourself, then you can get the struts later on. You will just save on $ labor.

People's experiences will vary. Ask asiandoood. He ran on his OEM shocks for something like 6 years with Neuspeed RACE springs and didn't have any serious issues with shocks blowing out or the like. From what I remember of that setup, it was surprisingly liveable.

its not a good idea to keep the stock strut for too much longer... ibet when you hit a bump on the freeway you hear spring movement in the rear.. chances are you will anyways.. def look into a new strut setup..

I have a 95, and I'm running on OEM struts and Matrix coilovers. I'm dropped as low as possible. Only recently has the need come up to replace the shocks. So thats 8 years, 4 of them slammed, and only in the last 3 months have things gotten bad.

I suggest getting new shocks/struts with the springs/coilovers.

KYB AGX's with GroundControl or Eibach spring is a nice, economical setup!

I'm still riding on oem struts, and its been about 9000 miles lowered ~1.6"

ride's bouncy, tho, but liveable.
