anyone know how to fix it?? the part of the harness is mounted on the back of the old head unit...so what do we do?? i REALLLY want my keyless entry back!!

There's a special harness you have to use if you want to keep the Keyless entry. You have to hide the factory CD player behind the dash somewhere - yeah, it's a pain.

yea i heard of that b4....and just where in the hell are u supposed to hide it? thats so stupid!! who the hell ever heard of wiring the keyless entry and the dome light to the figgin RADIO!! :upset:

Pull out the HU and on the Factory part of the harness, look for the green/red wire and green/black wire. Then cut them and crimp them together.
does this work for the 97 too? or is it different wires? or doesnt anyone know? h:

well my car has an aftermarket alarm, so the factory keyless entry is not used. I totally removed the factory HU and the aftermarket works just fine. At least I was able to reconnect my dome light! But yes, if you have the factory keyless, you have to keep the factory HU intact behind the new unit. Just secure it with velcro or something on the hump behind the cupholder area.

Civichik, it should be the same for your year. Take out your HU and take a look.

and heres the two wires. Since I plan on keeping my car till the wheels fall off, I didn't care about retaining in so I can revert back to stock. I just cut the wires out of the harness, stripped them, and tied them off togeather, covering them in electic tape.

hey, it works....

Ok, I think you have the same year as mine so you should have keyless entry. Just got off the phone with Crutchfield. Pull out the HU and on the Factory part of the harness, look for the green/red wire and green/black wire. Then cut them and crimp them together. That should solve your problem! Let me know if it works.

you just need to get a "t-tap" and connect those two wire together...then you'll be all set with the dome light
