Default Thermal Classic

Does anyone have a Thermal Classic for a 92-98 civic PArt Number B101-C101???

i am curious as to how it is Designed exactly? does it have any Sharp Bends? 90 Degree i have heard on some Classics!

is it a straight through Muffler design? or baffled like RS*R?

does it come with the gasket? between Cat and resonator pipe?

does the Resonator cause any loss of power?

how does it sound in comaparison to EVo and Tannabe Medallion?

I have heard that it is one of the Deepest Exhausts on market! Not ricey sounding at all!

Also i have heard that it gives some of the best HP and torque gains on the market as well! as much as 10 wph, is this true?

has anyone had their car Dynoed before and after having the Classic put on?

and how much difference will it make to put on
A) a high flow caT?
B) a Land Speed PowerCore header *or DC Stainless*

Thanks in Advance!
Dan

Thermal is great. They are loud though which is why I have the thermal stealth. As far as gaskets, I can't help you because I did'nt install it. Great exhaust though. Looks like it was made for my car. Oh, and I have a random cat.

Loud, this exhaust is loud. Just a warning, You'll be speaking up when trying to talk to the person next to you on the highway. That said it does sound good, nice and deep. Similar to a Tanabe Racing Medalion (maybe a little deeper). It follows the stock routing under the car. There are some 90 degree bends, but all Civic exhausts have them (only one way to go back and stay under the heat shields). You won't see a 10 hp gain, maybe 2 or 3 on the top end, nothing your going to notice. All the noise will make it feel louder, but it won't show on a dyno or drag strip. Here's a couple of pics of mine. I've since converted mine to a stealth system to quiet it down and I'm thinking of selling it and getting something else, maybe an Apex WS.

whoa, What do u mean LOUD? i was told by Thermal that the Classic doesnt exceed 91db at WOT

is LOUD meaning like Apexi N-1 Loud? louder or quieter?

how much quieter is the STEALTH? i was told MAX 87db at WOT

that doesnt seem to be a huge difference to me.

how good does the Stealth sound.

i have heard the Classic on a website and it sounded the Same Loudness as a Greddy EVO but a hell of a lot better. deeper way deeper.

so is the Classic a Ticket magnet?

ANDY how did u convert it to a stealth?

ANDY U said u are selling ur exhaust?? How much? how old is it?
any signs of wear? is it on the 98? or the 92?

i took off my Greddy SP and put on the Thermal classic. i love this exhaust. i run mine with a powercore race cat(great quality). the exhaust seems rather loud inside the car. but i like the fact that i have none of that weedwacker on steroids noise that some exhausts give. even with the powercore it's not that bad.

please HElp i really want this exhaust but am worried about tickets

VA is GHEY with exhaust laws, and i will get a ticket in a heartbeat

By loud I mean that you will never not realize you have an exhaust on your car. The first night I had my classic system, I drove my girlfriend back to her school and it's about an hour drive. The whole time I was wishing I had volume control for it and we both had headaches when we got there. It either quieted down a little or I got more used to it but it was still always noticeable. I converted mine to a stealth system about 8 months ago. It cost $40 (basically all the shipping costs). UPS picks it up at your house, the weld an internal silencer inside and polish the muffler section (all you send back) and ship it back. It still sounds really nice and deep, it's just not as bad. It's still a little louder than I want and I've been thinking of switching to something a little more subtle. I've never gotten a ticket or pulled over for my exhaust but aside from driving 15 over the limit on the highway all the time I don't give the police any reason to bother me.

The thermal's on my '98 EX. If your interested in it, email me at andy@divizion.com and we'll discuss it.

it's not defening but it is loud. my friends say it's not that loud outside of the car though. you might have to turn up the radio a bit. it's a nice deep tone. i live in MD and i frequent VA quite often and haven't had a problem. and landspeed racing sells the classic for a good price with free shipping.
