de-badging
ive seen that a lot of u guys pulled all the emblems off your cars, i was thinkin about doin the same thing, i was going to pull off probably the civic but leave the ex on the back and when i get a new grill im gonna leave the honda emblem off the front. anyone have any suggestions on good methods of removing hte emblems?
i took my civic one off the other day and it seems that it may have been super glued on... i cant get it off so now i have this disgusting glue on the back of my car... i already tried: oops, goo gone, laquer thiner, and 3m adheasive remover... It is $20 to get a new civic emblem and im pissed because i dont know what to do...
Yeah mine got stolen last year too. To my surprise the bandits did a clean job, no scratches or chips in the paint- a clean swipe. Why bother putting new ones on for the thieving bastards to steal again
I caught a little kid (9-11 years old) stealing valve stem caps off cars in my parking lot at 2 AM!? WTF, where is this kids parents. Why do all the smart, polite and cute kids get nabbed by pedophiles and not the brats out at 2AM F'ing with cars!
It's a sad world we live in...

Anyway, best way I've found is to use a hair dryer/heat gun (or just a hot summer day) to heat up the emblem. Then take some fishing line or dental floss (fishing line worked better for me) and slide it behind the emblem until you get it off. Repeat as needed. Once you have the emblem off, there will be gunk left over. Use some adhesive remover to break it up and then use your thumb to rub it off. Keep reapplying the adhesive remover as needed until it's all gone.
It's really simple.

When I was taking the dealer emblem off of my car, I used the dental floss method that Westcoast mentioned....it worked perfectly. It got the emblem off without scratching the paint....then I just used rubbing alcohol to get off the sticky crap.
Fishing Line also works great.
I took off my "Civic LX" because part of the "X" was off already.
It looked like "Civic LY"
