I don't like the fast brake kits because they utilize the Wilwood calipers...

$699 for a complete BBK?

But I'd prefer

www.brembo.com Gran Turismo BBK....

Not a BBK, but basically a set of 4-piston calipers, 10.2" rotors, pads, lines and hardware. I don't want to have to get a set of 17's just to have a nice brake setup. This kit is exactly what I was looking for.

What's wrong with Wilwood calipers?

Had a guy here that i bought my gsr rear disc for my dx. He had a ITR 5 lug set that would have fit the car for like $650-750 all four sides. Spent 300 on just the rears. Should i have done the ITR setup for autox which is what i'm into now?

The Willwood calipers are nice. I've seen some setups that clear the 16's quite well.

I was just gonna suggest that. If youre just doing it for the brakes, the itr conversion is just a waste of money... You can get a real 4-piston/floating rotor 11.5" brake kit for half the money... probably twice the function.

Either fastbrakes 4-pot upgrade for the fronts, or Willwood's big brake kit (available for like $600 thru Summit) are much better brakes for the money.

to me, the only reason anybody would want the 5lug conversion is for bling, as far as a brake upgrade its just about the worst bang/buck you can buy.

Willwood dynalite and dynalite II calipers are probably the best decently priced aftermarket calipers out there... major weight savings, virtually unlimited pad choices, 4 piston (application specific) squeezing power.... Whats not to like?

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't Wilwood setup's desgined for heavy track use?

My friends and I have installed both sets of BBK's...

The Wilwood and the Brembo Gran Turismo BBK.

IMO: The Wilwood caliper felt like a toy. Seemed fragile... I really did not like the design at all. It is installed in a MKIV Jetta, been over a year, pretty good, but I'm not a big fan of it.

I think also depending on who puts the kit together, make sure the caliper clamps onto the ENTIRE rotor. I've seen a few, including our MKIV setup, which the caliper only clamps onto the outter portion of the rotor.

The Brembo kit is, aestehically wise, looks the best. The construction was also solid and of very high quality. Of course the price is double of the Fast Brakes kit, I'd spend my money on the Brembo. The AEM kit utilizes the Bremo caliper also.
