is a 2000 hb DX headlight bulb the same as a 97 accord....?

Go over to the accord forum and ask them what # their bulbs are. You'd know for sure then.

Recent Accords use 9006 for low beams and 9005 for high beams.

92 and newer Civics use 9003/HB2. The motorcycle equivalent is the H4, which is the size designation that many aftermarket bulbs (PIAA, blue bulbs, etc) use.

So basically, an H4 and/or 9003 bulb will fit your Civic. Technically, an H4 is illegal to use as it's not regulated for automotive use. But the chances of getting in trouble are very slim. I use H4 PIAAs myself. As long as you aren't overly blue or bright (a la high wattage bulbs), you should be fine.
