Default Adjusting Koni Ride Height

Just installed koni yellows and neuspeed sports. the front is a bit lower than the back. (I didnt install them wrong. long coils up front short in back) I Think I want to redo the back to make it even. I have the neuspeed yellows w/ the five pirch heights. the middle height is stock correct? How low do you guys think i should go down the two slots or down just one?

Also, how do you move the ring on the shocks special tool you need to use? I want to be careful so I dont end up messing something up. Id like this to go better than my mods have been going lately.

Also, going that low should I need a camber kit (would like to get one before alignment so I dont have to pay twice). Right now Im at like a tight two finger gap up front and very loose two finger gap in the back. Would like it to be even. Thanks.

Just because the coils are longer doesn't always mean it's the front coils. It all depends on the spring rates. Higher spring rates should be in the fronts lower spring rates in the rear.

Realize though if you lower the car more than 2" over stock Koni will not warrenty your shocks if something goes wrong. Plus I have my car dropped about 2" and I just barely run out of shock travel on my Koni Yellows.

If you are dropped between 0-2" you should be fine without a camber kit. I've been riding on 2" drops since 1997 and have good tire wear (tires lasting me 30K+ miles). Just make sure you go with 1/8" toe in all around to prevent excessive tire wear.

Ive put in springs before so Im 99.99999% they are on right. Car sits fine just that the back is higher. The back springs are the uneven ones and the fronts are straight right? Anyways, how do you adjust the spring perches? Still need to know. Crappy koni instructions

Having the rear a little higher is good for less understeer - balances the car.

To adjust the perches you have to take the shock out (with the spring) use a spring compressor to take the spring off, unclip the perch, move the perch down and reinstall everything.

Understand all that. Just wondering about unclipping the clip. How exactly do you do it?

Where did you hear this? I have never heard anything about that, and I've already had one of my shocks replaced under warranty due to the adjusting tab breaking off, damaged during shipping.

Interesting, I installed everything w/ the Koni instructions, and it was my first time to assemble Koni shocks, I didn't have any problems. Sure some words would help, but I guess they were trying to make it read in all countries of the world.

Anyway, you don't have to remove the springs, just compress them a bit to take the pressure off the spring perch. Then use a screwdriver on that snap-ring to dislodge it from the groove, and move it to the slot you want. I only have 3 slots on mine in back, 15mm apart, w/ the middle being stock. My car also sat higher in back after installing my stuff (H&R Sport springs), so I brought the rear perch down to the lowest level and the car sits just right now. The back is lowered probably right at 2", if not just a hair more. I have no camber kits, tire wear is perfectly even after 11K miles.

absolutely! whether you get an adjustable camber kit or not, you MUST get the toe-in adjusted or the tires will get chewed up pretty quick. My toe-in is set correctly and i rotate tires every 4K-5K and it's even all the way across.
