I duno what happened to the deer, like I said the first thing I did when I got out of the car was look for the deer so I could kill it....

It musta ran off, or rolled into the woods. But it was dark....

I live in Harford County, on Morse Road(which is off of 165).

I didn't report it to the insurance company, I didn't want my rates to go up...

As for the idea of putting the stuff on myself, I was thinking about that, it wouldn't be difficult or costly, I know I could get 2 brand new headlights for 50 bucks...

I'll let you guys know what i do. and post pics of the fix...

My dad has hit 2 deer, and his rates never went up. I think it's basically a situation that's beyond your control, so they can't penalize you for it. It's worth giving them a call to find out if it would affect your rates. Hell, you might get a nice chunk out of it!

From what i know, the proper thing to do is to report it to the local game warden and go from there. depending on state laws would depend on if you got to keep it or if they got to dispose of it.

If you're able to load it up and drive the car off, i'd say keep it and don't report it. if there's witnesses and you think they might squeal, then you kinda gotta follow proper procedures.

I went and got an estimate for the damage on my car. This is what I got:

Parts: 202.98
Labor: 370.60
Paint: 73.80
Sublet/Misc. (whatever that is): 8.00

TOTAL = $669.22

Thanks to RiceburninVTEC, the cost is lower since he sold me an extra fender for 30 bucks...thanks buddy.

Damnit....I really hate deer.
yeah...i had similar damage and i just got my car repaired...but it cost me 450 and i had more damage...good that u got that extra fender...that's what i did and it ended up saving me some good cash
