I pushed in the tabs on the inside. Gave it a little pressure and bent it in. So far...so good.

That's what I did. Rolled the fronts with a pipe wrapped with a rag.

Actually, there IS a propper way. Most professional shops use a special tool (similar to the one tire rack rents I think) that attaches to the hub, then you spin it while it pushes the fender up.
