Default timing belt

I'm due to get a new timing belt soon, and i've been really worried about being able to afford it. but now my friend might be doing it for only $200 cash (he used to be a mechanic, still has his tools, etc). He still owes me one after rear ending my car a couple years back....

If you can't do it yourself, then have him do it for $200. You won't find it cheaper.

78K miles.

i sure as hell can't do it myself, and $200 beats $500 anyday

with the added plus of having the only person i trust with my car doing it

Dealer here does it for $350-$375. Water pump and everything. If they screw up, they cover it. Most buddy or friends don't.
