it's recommended that you also change your waterpump when you change your timing belt.

 

he'll change the water pump too, i trust him that he won't dick me over. he's done a lot of work to my car, in and out of the shop, i've never had a problem, but i know if i did he'd still fix it. He's one of those guys that'll want to get it done right the first time.
he's checking to see if it even needs to be changed yet first, just in case.

 

that's what i thought too. i thought it was part of the 90K service thing they do. i had mine done at 120 or something.

 

It also depends on driving style. If you are running FI, then you should change it earlier than suggested. I changed mine at 70,000. It is really not that hard to do either, no balancer shafts in a 99 EX!
