Default 96-00 sound dampening (ie, dynomatting)

but I'm not using dynomat. found this cheap insulation crap at Home Depo.

I was wondering if any of you 96-00 guys have done sound insulation yourselves? I did the rear deck and the license plate earlier, but I was wondering any other key spots for rattle. I'm probably going to go at it again after I get off work later tonight, but if anyone has any tips, that'd be cool.

mods, don't move this to audio since I'm more likly to get traffic from 96-00 owners

Agreed... I think I want to spray my fenderwells with some coating to dampen the goddam road noise. I still hear the road when I have my tunes turned up... particularly when I'm on the expressway.

Use a heat gun to warm it up and use a roller to apply it. I got the roller from the crafts section at Walmart.

did you not read my post?

I said I'm NOT using dynomat. I have better things to do with my money, so why spend $50+ when I can spend under $10.

the best and cheapest method of shutting your liscense plate up.
get double side insulation foam shit at home depot...
place strips behind the liscense plate, and reattach.
rattle completely gone!!

also for the trunk lid... get foam sealant for the layer between the two sheets of metal that make up the lid... (get the non expanding kind) fill them holes up, then get a deadener spray (rubberized coating can do the trick ...kmart or walmart for 4 bucks a can.) then layer with a sound dampener

I want to try and stay away from any rubber spray or any of that. The extream heat of south texas makes that stuff peel off. I've actually heard of people with dynomat having it fall off.

but I've gotten the rear plate taken care of. I put plenty of the crap on the rear deck to get that well.

but there's still minor rattles but its better than before.
