I believe that is true for the torsen type. The LSD in my car is not torsen so the wheels turn in the same direction. I don't remember what type :dunno:

I agree on the cheating part. There are 20+ things I could do that even from close inspection people wouldn't know anything was changed from stock. But I don't. I want to win on a level playing field playing within the rules not breaking them.

Now, I don't know how good an OEM limited slip is compared to and aftermarket one...but if they are theoretically the same and your just going by price, paying 300 now is the better way to go...

Hmm actually I think the OEM LSD and those KAAZ and Qaualife LSD's all work on different principals. I remember reading about this before but I don't remember.

on a side note: The OEM LSD is VERY nice on launches. I had it on my B16 hatch and it was :naughty:

yeah they might be different types of LSD's, but I don't think that the result in that much of a different performance...they all do the same thing.

Even with less than 90 hp, I can feel the need for an LSD when I'm autocrossing. Its not essential, but it would really make an improvement. Plus it will make you look cool, not being a mad tire squealer out there like most civics are. I plan to get an LSD when I do my swap (doesn't change my class--the swap would put me in SM anyway) Plus its safer for normal daily driving too. I say go for it.

The KAAZ and the Quaife actually do quite different things. The effect is less noticable on pavement, but the Quaife will plow like a bastard on gravel or over choppy surfaces where the wheels loose contact with the ground. The KAAZ, on the other hand, is a rally-style diff that that acts differently when traction is lost from too much torque to a specific wheel, as compared to when traction is lost from poor contact with the ground. I don't know how its done, but mechanically, and functionally, theyre totally different beasts.

whats the point of cheating? If you beat someone in a lower class, youre not proving anything, youre just showing that youre too ashamed of your driving skills to win honestly. Whats the point of competition if its not a level playing field?
