also... is it normal for the ws tip to be soo tucked inside the car? because i have a rear lip and the tip is like 1 inch behind the underbody lip. also... after the install, i place the stock rubber hanger in there to prevent it from knocking against the gas tank... and now my tip is not even... it's crook it.

btw, thank for your help avijiggybear... otherwise i would have had a hard time driving to work... haha. but that trick did the job of preventing it from knocking... did ur tip look off centered as well?

also, i noticed a burning smell.. more along the lines of burning caramel while i was driving the car and while it's its idling. is that normal? because i didn't have that smell when i had the evo.

other than that... i love the sound... but i will have to check again to make sure exhaust is not leaking. the test drive was fine... in fact it felt much better than my greddy evo. it felt as though there were more back pressure than the evo.

mine tucks inside the bumper by about an inch as well, on a 99. the burning is normal when it's new, as the insides are being exposed to the hot exhaust gases for the first time. that'll go away after some driving time. i also did not have any problems with the fitment. hope it helps. enjoy the ws!

oh... your didn't have any problem with the fitment? did you install it yourself or had it done. i installed it based on the exact layout of my stock exhaust... and everything seem to go in just fine. then the rear section flange started to lean up against the gas tank as i tighten it. and it looks hella ugly with the tip tucked so inside... how come riceburninvtec's is so nicely done???

hey man, sorry to hear about your exhaust issue, i bought my apexi N1 about a year or so again and i had the same problem. i gotta say tho the universal exhaust hanger did the trick, ive had some problems with losing it everynow and then but i dont think there is really a better way to do it. the smell is as the other guy said just the inside burning off some paint or oils. and the WS does sit much like a stock exhaust with the tip behind the bumper. glad your happy with the exhaust im kinda wishin i had gotten a WS the N1 is too loud i think.

i just went to advanced auto and because mine touches right at the top of the curve on that part of the pipe i got one of the circle universal rubber ones
and no it doesnt burn, they are made to be on exhaust so i guess the rubber is conditioned or somthin to be able to withstand the heat. the one i have on my car now i superglued on in hopes to keep it longer. glue may not be neccessary but i am often broke so i wanna try to keep it in there so i dont gotta be really sad and be beggin for a couple bucks from friends for a hanger. but hope all goes well, im not sure wat to say about it being crooked.only option other than the hanger that i have kind of considered is removing the hangers on the muffler and making them a lil longer which would drop the whole system down a little, im not sure if thats a good idea but i dont like having my piping on my tank so its somthing that i have been considering, but once again best of luck figuring yours out. the circle universal hangers have worked the best on my car. the others all have like stuff in the middle of the hanger but the circle one fits right around the pipe pretty perfect.
hope ive been of some help to you

That sounds sweet... i know what i am doing this weekend. i'm gonna be under my car the whole day figuring out and playing with it. also to install the circle type of exhaust hanger to see if that would work for me as well. as for the crook it part.. guess i'm gonna have to play around with the two hangers on the muffler to see if i can adjust it. any suggestion on how to bend those mofos??? thanks!
