Help? Alternator

If you have power steering, that's where it becomes a pain and you have to remove the bracket. Go to walmart and get a map gas torch. Best 25 bucks you can spend. Torch the hell out of the bolts, and then crack em loose with a ratchet. I had to do that a few weeks ago when taking mine out of my del sol si. The one on my S doesn't have power sterring, and it came right out. Just had to twist it...

I've never had to remove anything but the alt to get the alt out. I don't see how PS could get in the way? The hose maybe, but why do you have to remove the bracket? It's on the opposite side of the motor...


You have everything removed right? You have all the wiring off and the belt loosened? The alt itself is free-floating right?

Yup. He's talking about the alternaotr bracket, that and the drive shaft are in the way of getting it out. I'm going to try getting it through the top again. I'm not stopping till I have it fixed.
