um, I thought the problem with the AV6's is they were using 4-banger transaxles. 
or so I heard.
my dads '00 AV6 tranny is still holding up with under 25k miles on the car. But it is jerky as hell. Who knows.
As for my auto tranny, I'm a little over 80k, and its still smooth as ever. Only two neutral drops done on it, too

Some auto turbos can actually be faster than sticks, mainly because youve got boost built up from the time the car starts moving until youre done. It wont lose all the pressure during shifting as a stick would. It can be done, and it can be fast.
Just be ready to buy a couple backup trannies :chuckles:
