Default exhaust rattles

my exhaust on my civic makes a sharp buzzing sound whenever its near 1000RPMs. basically it makes my car sound like a piece of shit.

anybody else have this problem before, and is there anything i can do to fix the damned thing?

what do you mean by a sharp buzzing sound?like chirpping almost like its squeaking?

its not a chirp or a squeak. its a ratting sound, the sound you hear when two pieces of metal vibrate loosely with each other.

I have that problem on occasion... it's not consitant though. When I had that problem in my Corolla and my Sentra it lasted for about two weeks... then the tailpipe fell off... lol...

My guess is the piping hitting the heat shield. Might also try getting new exhuast hangers. Usually when they're really old, they get soft and let the exhaust shake more than normal.

My wifes car did that and it turned out to be the heat shroud around the resonater
which is just after the catyletic converter

it could be that. or maybe it was like mine where the muffler had rusted on the inside or something and pieces of metal were just loose inside , it was essentailly like a big rattle.
