mine rattles at higher rpms, its a real tight buzzy vibration/rattle that stops when i put my hand on the shift knob.

I couldn't agree more about the vibrating ... I have the B & M in my 97 RS and love it with the exception of the buzzing/rattling in high rpms in 2-4 gear. If I slightly put my hand on the shifter it quits. It didn't have the rattle when I first installed it. I haven't had the chance to get under the car to figure out what the hell is causing the issue. It really is not that big of a deal to me. I don't drive the car on a daily basis and when I do drive it, it doesn't annoy me that bad .. I can put up with it for the shorter throws and solid feeling shifts.

could it be the cup for that ball that is making it rattle?? U all say that it stops once u put ur hand on it, so maybe the screws came loose
what im talking about is the plate that is below number 11 and the screw might have came loose?? That might be worth a try to see if it will work.

i just read about shifters breaking too. not cool. mine seems to be holding up ok. looks like cnc machined alum, with the bearing housing welded on. ive heard many good things about the skunk shifter tho... no rattling that ive heard of

Hey Rui. Good choice on the SS, heard its nice except for the rattling too. Kinda off-your-topic, but are you getting both front and rear Si sway bars on your coupe? Maybe you can help me out. :naughty:

well... as for the sway bar... no, i am keeping the front of my ex stock and just upgrading the rear. i like the way it handles now, except for the rear. thus, just waiting on the new Si rear sway. sohfast hasn't e-mailed me yet... so still waiting for tracking#.

thanks guys for the inputs on the SS. i too have hear a lot about rattling sound from B&M that other's have posted. but i just didn't want the ebay ss to break on me either. perhaps i should just get the gsr ss and grind it down like outxider did. have to find a gsr ss first... well, back to researching for ss again...
