A hatchback
Hey guys, Well today I finally found a 1992 honda civic Hatchback with 135,000 miles on it...I didnt see the car yet but I will Friday. He said there is a little rust on the back wheel well...I mean is this like a really bad problem? He said it runs great and in the AD it says he installed a new timeing belt....Other than that he said the car runs fine....I mean the price he wants for it is 1,800....Is this a good deal or what? I plan on swapping engines so im not really concerned about the miles but i was wondering even with the back wheel well rust is this a steal? or should i wait??? thanks..
almost every honda civic/crx hatchback have rust on the back wheel well... any body shop can fix it..or u can do it yourself... just sand blast the rust then apply body filler or fiber glass resin. then sand it off apply primer then paint it hope that help... good price
yeah i was at work and school so i had to rush talking to him...and i forgot to ask what model, im pissed about that but he said he will call me as soon as someone else wants to see it...imma be like hey imma student and i need a car for transportation...i got 1,300 right here cash...i mean ive been looking for one for like ever and now i find one close by i can scoop it up...I just hope i get it and its a good choice...Its also like a dark dark grey he said it looks black..i wanted white but hell with it that price i cant let it slide... thanks for the tips...
since there is rust, I would say.. if you plan on getting it fixed. go for it, and get it done by a pro... if not Rust is the Worst problem you can have.. its cancer and it will not stop.. I say get the work done by a pro because if its not done perfectly then the rust will just grow...
aswell, if there is rust on the wheel wells chances are there is also rust spots elsewhere.. maybe not visable yet.. but look hard and mainly places that dirt water salt etc can get stuck.. places under the car.... look for paint bubbles etc....
I swear that if you find one with no rust, or you get the rust fixed you will be much happier a few months/years down the road..

nice... 5th gen hatches are the best...
& mine is a '95 w/o any rust and only 100K miles for $2246.83 out the door...
That isn't a bad price, but if you could get it cheaper, spend the money fixing the little things... little things are the ones that turn into big things and hit you when you least expect it... & before you do any mods... make sure the car is running great...
